The celebration which was a Rally held in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria paid advocacy visit to the Kwara State Ministry of Environment and took participants round the major streets of the city sensitizing and raising people's consciousness on the need to be proactive as Everyone counts in this initiative because any damage or effect on the Environment affects all irrespective of locality. Thus,  World Environment Day relies on every single individual to make it happen! this corroborates the unique Theme for this year: Green Economy: Does It Include You?
Practically speaking, a Green Economy is one whose growth in income and employment is driven by public and private investments that reduce carbon emissions and pollution, enhance energy and resource efficiency, and prevent the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
If the Green Economy is about social equity and inclusiveness then technically it is all about you! The question therefore asks you to find out more about the Green Economy and assess whether in our Country and State you are being included in it, if not, are you taking up the initiative?
The participants and populace were encouraged to commit towards a  collective action through organizing  neighborhood clean-up, embarking on tree planting (individually and at community levels), encouraging and enforcing the reduction of  CO2  emission in industries because Green Economy includes us all!
